Crystal Conference Center Celebrates Capital Campaign Progress

Crystal Conference Center is celebrating the successful implementation of its capital campaign and the visible progress made possible through the generosity of faithful supporters.

Located on the south shore of Crystal Lake in Frankfort, Michigan, Crystal Conference Center has been a place of rest, renewal, connection, and spiritual formation for more than 100 years. Part of the summer ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Michigan, Crystal welcomes children, youth, families, congregations, retreat groups, and community partners to experience the beauty of creation and the gift of shared life together.

Thanks to the success of the capital campaign, significant improvements have been completed across the site.

The dining hall has received extensive updates, including a new roof, new flooring on the main level, new windows, new doors, and a new deck. These updates strengthen one of the central gathering spaces at Crystal, where meals, conversations, laughter, planning, and community life all take place.

The dorms have also received important upgrades, with old bunk beds replaced by brand-new bunks and mattresses. These improvements will help provide a more comfortable and welcoming experience for campers, retreat participants, volunteers, and guests.

For generations, Crystal Conference Center has helped people step away from the noise of daily life and into a place where relationships deepen, faith is nurtured, and creation reminds us of God’s abundance. These capital improvements are more than building projects. They are investments in hospitality, accessibility, safety, and the continued ministry of a treasured regional site.

The Region gives thanks for all who contributed to this campaign and for the leaders, volunteers, staff, and supporters who continue to care for Crystal Conference Center. Because of this faithful work, Crystal is better prepared to welcome future generations to the lake, the table, the campfire, and the holy work of community.
