Applications Now Open: Justice & Creation Summer Fellowship 2026

Application Deadline: March 16, 2026

The Green Chalice Ministry and Disciples Home Missions are excited to announce the Justice and Creation Summer Fellowship 2026, a dynamic opportunity for Disciples of Christ congregations, regions, and camps to nurture young leaders in creation care, climate justice, and love of neighbor.

We are seeking 12 ministry sites to partner with young Fellows ages 16–26 for a summer of hands-on ministry, spiritual growth, and community transformation. Each selected site will receive a $3,000 grant—$2,500 to support the Fellow’s stipend and $500 for ministry expenses.

This fellowship is rooted in cultivating curiosity, compassion, connection, and justice. Projects move beyond individual behavior change to address systemic causes of environmental and social harm, centering communities most impacted by climate change and environmental degradation. Ministries led by or serving Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities are especially encouraged to apply, and priority will be given to first-time applicants.

In recent years, Fellows across the country have launched farmers markets, expanded food justice programs, restored waterways, cultivated pollinator gardens, and deepened spiritual practices grounded in creation care. As one Fellow shared, “I noticed God everywhere—in the gardens, in community, and in the work we were doing together.”
