After months of anticipation—and more than a few rounds of March Madness—the results are in! The clear winner of our Name-the-Region contest is…
The Living Waters Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
This new name flows from the rich scriptural promise of John 4, where Jesus offers himself as living water—refreshing, renewing, and sustaining. It also honors the geography and identity of our three regions—Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin—where rivers, lakes, and streams run deep through our shared story.
Our new logo retains the chalice at the heart of our identity, while three distinct waves wrap around our states—symbolizing unity in diversity. The circle that surrounds the image remains open, reminding us that the Spirit still moves, brooding across the waters and calling us forward.
As we continue through the final steps of our merger process, regional staff will be sharing the logo, colorways, fonts, and messaging materials with congregations. We hope these will help you joyfully proclaim who we are becoming—together.
Let us give thanks, Living Waters Disciples, for this new name and new season, flowing with hope, purpose, and grace.
Just a note – the new logo and name will not be official and SHOULD NOT BE USED by congregations, ministries, and individuals until January 1, 2027 after it is approved at our Regional Assembly at Tinley Park on Oct. 3-4, 2025 and by the General Board of the Christian Church.
