The Pro-reconciliation/Anti-Racism Initiative of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is rooted in the vision of manifesting God’s beloved community. It encourages the church to engage with the previously unheard voices of its racial and ethnic communities, drawing from their wisdom and leadership. The initiative emphasizes discernment, prayer, scripture study, reflection, dialogue, and fellowship at the table. Its ultimate aim is to transform and enrich the church’s spiritual life, fostering a community committed to delivering justice and salvation to the world.
In the emerging Region of Michigan and Illinois & Wisconsin, we take this charge seriously. The Pro-Reconciliation/Anti-Racism Team is looking for new members to join our team, dedicated to developing and executing a long-term plan aimed at combating racism and fostering an anti-racism culture throughout our region. Our goal is to heed God’s call to transform into a fully inclusive, anti-racist, multicultural church. This call extends to both clergy and lay members eager to make a difference. Our upcoming online meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8 at 5 pm CT/ 6pm ET.
