Smoked Fish! Disciples Women’s Spring Gathering offering

By March 4, 2024March 7th, 2024No Comments

The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) began the Smoked Fish microcredit project along the coast of Ghana to provide women and families with the opportunity to earn a sustainable income. Many families in this region must make the difficult decision between sending their children to school and sending their child to work.  The smoked fish project equips women with the skills to run a small business and to learn the art of cooking smoked fish.

In addition to the microcredit program, the CCG strives to raise awareness and reduce the occurrence of child labor and human trafficking in Ghana.  Another program of the CCG reintegrates girls who have been trafficked or forced into labor into the life of the local communities.

Your offerings for this Global Ministries project may be brought to the Spring Gathering or sent to CCIW, 401 W. Jefferson St., Bloomington, IL  61701.  Make checks payable to CCIW, designated for Disciples Women Ghana Smoked Fish Project.
