NBA COVID-19 Grant Response

Greetings in this season of Resurrection. In the beginning of April, we launched the COVID-19 NBA Response Grants created to offer a rapid and impactful response for Disciples-related ministries working to offer care and services locally in the midst of this health pandemic. The NBA will provide response grants to eligible Disciples health and social service ministries over the course of three grant cycles scheduled through the end of this calendar year.

The NBA Response Grants Committee meets every two weeks to review applications that have been submitted. We are pleased to share that some of the grant recipients in this last round include ministries in your region.

NBA Response Grants have been awarded and sent to:

  • Union Avenue Christian Church, Litchfield – ($1,000) supporting the Breaking Bread program that is now providing food to those in need through bagged meals and pick up locations;
  • University Place Christian Church, Champaign – ($5,000) supporting the Open Door Ministry program and their weekly community dinner as they recreate outreach services to be in health compliance by being outdoors and offering bagged meals for those in need.

As we continue to sustain each other and move through this global health pandemic, we, as the NBA, hold you, the Region, and the ministries awarded this grant support with care and in continuous prayer. If you have questions or seek to contact NBA about the NBA Response Grants, please do contact us by email at [email protected].

In humble service and partnership,

Rev. Rebecca Hale, NBA Executive Vice President
(on behalf of the Trustees and Staff led NBA Response Grants Committee)
