Annual Fund 2019

Dear Friend,

Our summer camping season is about to begin in earnest at Camp Walter Scott. There is good news to share:

Rev. Eli Rolòn Jeong has been working with our Directors to prepare for the summer season; Laura Williams our Camp Host has been welcoming groups, including our Illinois Valley Cluster who provided a new playground structure and frisbee golf equipment; Our Camp Walter Scott Matching Grant campaign has provided for two Yurts to be built on top of two old hogan platforms with new bunks, electricity and fans; We have a new Dining Hall roof; And, our shower house is being scoured and renewed.

In other news, Rev. Angelique Jordan Byrd has been consulting with our congregations on communication plans: Quincy, First; Mackinaw; Danville, Central; Hoopeston, First.

CCIW Regional Ministry

We exist to support local congregations. We are committed to providing you with high quality ministry that provides services not available everywhere.

Better Together

We’re here to provide opportunities for fellowship groups, outdoor ministry, congregational transformation, new church ministries, anti-racism initiatives, education for global mission as well as our Regional Assemblies for sharing and nurturing.

Caring for Congregations

We’re here for you to extend consulting services in such areas as ministerial transition, problem-solving, conflict resolution, renewal (transformation), and planning for the future, as well as celebrations of congregational life such as anniversaries, dedications, installations and retirements.

Leadership Development

We’re here to help individuals and congregations in discerning God’s call. We provide leadership opportunities in a manner that equips and models good leadership. Recognizing that leadership is a grace, a gift and a skill, we help in locating the resources and education needed to fulfill an individual’s calling.

Caring for Ministers & Ministry

We provide care for ministers and their families. The Region assists clergy and congregations in the Search & Call process to match the needs of congregations with the particular gifts and graces of ministerial leaders.

New Forms of Mission & Ministry

We provide support for new church starts, congregational revitalization and transformation strategies. We assist congregations in their efforts to be relevant, while not compromising the faithfulness of the church to Scripture and our Disciples heritage and core values.

Making Connections

We help congregations connect with one another, sharing creative ideas in all areas of ministry – worship, education, fellowship and mission in our communities.

Fostering Disciples’ Identity

We assist with affirming our relationships as part of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a movement of wholeness in a fragmented world – growing together to be loving, inclusive and welcoming.
