By September 4, 2018No Comments
There are still many unknowns surrounding how The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 will impact charitable giving. One thing we do know is that there will be changes to how congregants will financially support their local congregations. As your partner in ministry, we encourage you to be familiar with all aspects of these changes and the effects they may have on your congregation. The Disciples Guide to Tax Smart Giving helps ministries and donors understand how to continue to be good stewards in light of these changes, and to understand how to prepare for and navigate the opportunities and the challenges created by changes in the law. This guide is perfect for ministers, stewardship teams, and trustees and is designed to help Disciples understand how they can continue to move money to mission and respond to God’s call to be faithful stewards.
The Christian Church Foundation is here to help your ministry identify and support donors who desire to make a difference through planned gifts. We know that donors are encouraged to give generously when their church is committed to faithfully stewarding their gifts through sound policies and prudent investment. While there are real concerns about the impact of the new law on charitable giving, we believe that mission-focused ministries who understand these new challenges will be successful in growing the financial support of their ministries.
