On Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. we are invited to participate in one of two exciting workshops to assist us in increasing our giving. Held at Zion United Church of Christ, 1521 6th St., Peru, IL 61354 will be a program entitled, “Essentials of Effective Stewardship Campaigns.” This location will be led by Rev. Eugene Grimm, a stewardship specialist for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and author of several books, including, “Generous People: How to Encourage.” In addition there will be a panel discussion on the topics of Capital Campaigns, and Consecrating Stewards, a congregational model.

For the same date and time at Westchester Community Church, 1840 Westchester Boulevard, Westchester, IL 60154, the program will be “21st Century Stewardship, Technology, and Millennial Generosity, ” led by Rev. Michael Piazza, currently interim at First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan, CT, spiritual visionary, author, social justice advocate, and Adjunct Professor teaching church growth at Hartford Seminary. Part of the panel discussion at this location will focus on long term giving.

Both locations have a registration fee of $40 due August 16, 2018. If there are two or more from the congregation, the cost is only $30 person, with lunch and resources included. This is one more opportunity to realize how the church is generous with us as these nationally known speakers are brought to us.

You may register online at the Illinois Conference website, www.ilucc.org or via the attached hard copy or email [email protected]. The Illinois Conference address is 1840 Westchester Blvd, Westchester, IL 60154, ATTN: Carmen Torres, and checks are to be made out to the Illinois Conference, UCC.
