Dean of Disciples Divinity House in Chicago
to deliver baccalaureate sermon at Eureka College
EUREKA – The Rev. Teresa Hord Owens, Dean of Students at the Disciples Divinity House at the
University of Chicago Divinity School, will give the sermon at the 2016 Eureka College baccalaureate service
for graduates at 6 p.m. May 13 in the Cerf Center. The service is free and open to the public.
Owens sermon titled “Minimum Requirements” will take its text from Micah 6:6-8, which asks, “With
what shall I come before the Lord and bow myself before God on high.” She invites students to consider how
grounding themselves in both ethical and moral construct will allow them to go out into the world and
contribute in substantive ways.

the board of trustees at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis. She holds bachelor’s degree in
Government from Harvard University and the Master of Divinity from the University of Chicago Divinity
