Tennessee Region Letter

On Line Version Called Regional Assembly Letter

February 15, 2016
To the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Tennessee

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As you are aware, upon the retirement of Dr. Glen Stewart, a search committee was commissioned for the purpose of finding and recommending a new Regional Minister and President to lead the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Tennessee.

In these past 14 months, Dr. Beth Dobyns has very capably and faithfully served in an interim capacity.

I now write you with exciting news for the future of our region.

At meetings  on Friday February 12 and Saturday, February 13, 2016, the Tennessee Region Executive Committee and the entire Regional Board affirmed the Tennessee Region Executive Search committee’s recommendation of the Rev. Dr. Christal Williams as the Regional Minister and President of the Christian Church in Tennessee.

Dr. Williams’ bio can be found here and her resume can be found here.

A called Regional Assembly will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Woodmont Christian Church in Nashville. The purpose of the Assembly is for the churches in the Tennessee region to affirm or deny the Call to Dr. Williams.

The Called Regional Assembly will begin at 11AM and will end before 1PM.

In the coming weeks you will receive more information on the voting process.

In His Service,

Deborah DeWitt
Moderator, Tennessee Region
