Mid-America Center for Ministry

FORMERLY MISSOURI SCHOOL OF RELIGION

What does it mean to be an elder in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)? The elders of your congregation can get the training they need to be faithful and effective in their role as spiritual leaders.

In this downloadable, interactive workshop, elders will learn about Biblical descriptions of the eldership and the work of elders in the Disciples of Christ tradition. Elders are invited to talk about the roles they fill in their own congregation and reflect upon their personal strengths and growing edges.

Valuable resources are presented and recommended for further study. Elders will consider how they can deepen their faith and grow in their ability to serve – as individuals and as a group. They will engage in conversation about their shared ministry with the pastor and with one another.

The cost of the curriculum is $39.95 and is divided into seven sections with downloadable discussion questions. The training is designed to be presented in about three hours including 70 minutes of video, depending on discussion time. Preview curriculum topics and questions here. A DVD option is now available for $54.95 . You can also download an order form here.
