On September 16, our Helmets of Hope ministry made its 50th delivery of essential household supplies that will be used by veterans who move off the streets and into housing of their own with the help of VA housing grants. I pass along that bit of news in large part to express to you and the CCIW our continuing appreciation for the Mission First grant we received last year. It might provide a bit of perspective to note that at the time we received the grant in July 2016, we had made just 13 supply deliveries. Now we are halfway to the century mark, and have provided more than 8,900 items. Over the last six months, we’ve provided an average of 475 supply items per month to our partner agencies. The Mission First money was and remains one of the pivotal sources of income in Helmets’ first year of operation. When possible, please pass along our ongoing gratitude to the Executive Committee. We do not and will not forget the support that helped make our first 50 deliveries possible.
