Tornado in Nashville and Middle Tennessee

By March 3, 2020One Comment

Dear Tennessee Regional Church Family,

This has been a morning filled with Sadness, Weariness, Trust and the mobilization of the “Beloved Community.” Early in the wee hours of the morning, North and East Nashville, and the surrounding areas of Mt Juliet, suffered a devastating Tornado; claiming the lives of nine persons, and still others are missing.

The Tornado went North and East almost in a straight line. At this time, there’s no damage to any of our churches, Yet, some damage to parishioners’ homes. We have been in touch with Rev. Caoline Hamilton Arnold of the “Week of Compassion”, and they are ready to assist in any way. We have also opened up Bethany Hills for those who may need shelter or a place to stay. If you live in the surrounding areas, and have some damage please let us know. We will work to keep you updated on the happenings around Nashville.

Please pray for the city of Nashville, the Community and all involved. Please pray for all of our Congregations within the Tennessee Region as we seek to extend our Open Table to all who are in need.

With Great Regards & Loving Spirit,
Rev. Dr. Christal L. Williams
The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Tennessee
