Amado y Amada del Señor que nos ha llamado para un tiempo como este. Que la paz que sobrepasa todo entendimiento colme su vida, su corazón y su mente hoy. En medio de momentos de incertidumbre, de confusión y de falta de entendimiento, podemos refugiarnos en la promesa que tenemos un Dios Todopoderoso, un Dios que es fiel y justo, un Dios soberano que todo lo ve, todo lo sabe y todo lo escudriña, un Dios que está con sus hijos e hijas en todo tiempo.
Las emociones y los sentimientos que fluyen por los resultados de las elecciones alrededor de nuestra nación están dejándose sentir en este día, y este tiempo requiere de una respuesta de la Iglesia Cristiana, del cuerpo de Cristo, que hable una palabra de esperanza y de ánimo basada en la fé en que Dios sigue siendo Dios, que Dios es el mismo de ayer, de hoy y por los siglos de los siglos. Es en medio de la confusión donde abunda la gracia de nuestro Señor, a través de la tribulación es que se muestra el amor de Dios, y en la aflicción es donde se experimenta su misericordia para todo ser humano.
La Obra Hispana se encuentra en medio de esta crisis, ya que nuestro pueblo ha sido el blanco de ataques racistas y un sin número de acusaciones malignas sin fundamento que han provocado ira y resentimiento en el corazón del pueblo Hispano. Levantamos un clamor delante del Dios de nuestra salvación, al trono celestial, que nos inunde de su presencia y de su sabiduría para ser instrumentos de amor, edificación, restauración y de reconciliación en nuestras Iglesias, comunidades y familias. Esta oportunidad para el pueblo Hispano de hacerse escuchar su voz y dar a conocer el nombre de Jesús a través de nuestro testimonio de amor y acción hacia la justicia y la misericordia, que van juntamente de la mano.
Hay un solo cuerpo y un solo Espíritu, así como también fueron llamados a una sola esperanza; un solo Señor, una sola fe, un solo bautismo; un solo Dios y Padre de todos, que está sobre todos y por medio de todos y en todos.” Efesios 4:4-6
Nosotros, el cuerpo de Cristo, estamos viviendo en medio de circunstancias que retan la manera en que somos llamados a mantener la unidad en Efesios 4:3. Las fracturas que hemos experimentado como Iglesia, y en particular los ministerios Hispanos de la iglesia Cristiana Discípulos de Cristo, se dejan sentir con grande tristeza. Pero aún en medio de esto, la misericordia de nuestro Señor está rebosando en gracia y favor conforme seguimos en la obra, trabajando y buscando edificar relaciones saludables, puentes de comunicación transparente y respeto, y glorificando al Rey de reyes y Señor de señores.
Los muros edificados a través de las ofensas y el odio no prevalecerán contra el amor que cubre una multitud de pecados. La Oficina Central Pastoral para Ministerios Hispanos, la Obra Hispana, exhorta a todas las expresiones de la Iglesia a denunciar la injusticia, y de mantenernos en solidaridad los unos con los otros, no a pesar de nuestras diferencias, pero a causa y por nuestras diferencias, a través de nuestra rica diversidad y en el nombre todopoderoso de Jesús.
“Por lo cual, teniendo nosotros este ministerio según la misericordia que hemos recibido, no desmayamos.” “Pero tenemos este tesoro en vasos de barro, para que la excelencia del poder sea de Dios y no de nosotros, que estamos atribulados en todo, mas no angustiados; en apuros, mas no desesperados; perseguidos, mas no desamparados, derribados, pero no destruidos; llevando en el cuerpo siempre por todas partes la muerte de Jesús, para que también la vida de Jesús se manifieste en nuestros cuerpos.” 2 Corintios 4:1, 7-10

Dear beloved ones of the Lord who has called for a time such as this, may the peace that goes beyond all understanding fill your life, your heart and your mind to the overflow today. In the midst of moments of uncertainty, of confusion and of a lack of understanding, we can take refuge in the promise that we have an Almighty God, a God who is faithful and righteous, a sovereign God who sees all, knows all and examines all, a God who is with each of us in every moment.
Emotions and feelings flowing from the results of the elections that took place across our nation
are felt on this day, and this time requires a response from the Christian Church, the body of Christ, that speaks a word of faith and motivation based on the faith that God continues to be God, that God is the same God yesterday, today and forever and ever. It is in the midst of confusion that the grace of our Lord abounds, through the tribulation that God’s love is demonstrated, and in affliction where we experiment God’s mercy that is for all people.
The Obra Hispana finds itself in the middle of this crisis as our community has found itself at the center of racist attacks and a unlimited number of hurtful and foundationless accusations that have provoked anger and resentment in the heart of the Latino community. We raise our cry before the God of our salvation, to the heavenly throne of glory, that we may be filled to the overflow with God’s presence and in wisdom so that we may be instruments of love, edification, restoration and reconciliation in our churches, communities and families.
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:4-6
We, the body of Christ, are living in the midst of circumstances that challenge the very unity we are called to maintain in Ephesians 4:3. The fractures we have experienced as the Church, and in particular as Hispanic Ministries of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ, are felt with great sadness. Yet, the mercy of our Lord is overflowing in grace and favor as we continue to move forward, seeking to build healthy relationships, bridges of transparent communication, and respect.
The walls built through offenses and hatred, will not prevail against the love that overcomes a multitude of sin. The Central Pastoral Office for Hispanic Ministries calls on all expressions of the Church to denounce the injustice, and to stand together in solidarity, not in spite of our differences, but because of our difference, through our rich diversity and in the name of Jesus.
“Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.”
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” 2 Corinthians 4:1, 7-10
