A Path to Spiritual Transformation (for you and your congregation)
Part of New Day 2016
Saturday, October 3, 10:00 am to 2:30 pm
Centennial Christian Church, Bloomington, Illinois
If you played and prayed with imagination (on August 22nd), you’ve embarked on a pilgrimage of spiritual transformation. If not, you can still join in! We’d love to see you there.
What if we were …?
- connected to God on a deeper level?
- listening to God?
- getting a sense of God’s direction for us?
- setting out on new adventures?
- experiencing new success in ministry?
- receiving all of God’s resources in abundance?
We’ll gather in Bloomington on October 3 to listen to stories of spiritual transformation, how we connect with God. We’ll ask questions like, “When do you feel closest to God?”
As we listen to a variety of stories, we’ll ask, “What parts of their story relate to yours?”
We’ll talk about spiritual disciplines and spiritual styles, the ways in which we experience God’s presence in our lives. We’ll introduce the idea of “discovery mentors,” someone who can help us navigate the path ahead.
We are on this path together and the God we love and serve makes that possible. As church, we are called to come together and to deepen our spiritual journey. We are convinced this will transform us and transform the church. This is God’s call for us.
After lunch, we’ll get to see how “Circles of Trust” groups work. These groups offer the opportunity to help us listen to ourselves on a deeper spiritual level. In New Day 2016, ministers will gather quarterly to support one another on their path of spiritual transformation using Circles of Trust. We will also encourage each congregation to offer this group experience in their home settings. It offers a chance for profound spiritual transformation, for individuals and for the church.
