Dear Regional Church Family, Our Global Mission Partners,
Gloria Vicente and her husband, Santos Par Vasquez, who are now both serving as missionaries in Guatemala will be coming home this spring to itinerate together with their family. They are looking forward to a chance to speak in the IL/WI Region and the IL Conference and would be available between January 10 – February 28, 2016.
Global Ministries will be responsible for their transportation to, from, and around the region and conference – we only request that the receiving congregations provide housing and meals. Gloria and Santos will be traveling with their 3 small children, ages 7, 5, & 3. Due to the children’s asthma, it would be best to have either day-trip events, a pet-free home or to put them up in a hotel room, if possible. We recognize that this is a difficult time of year to arrange interpretation due to the weather but we hope that if churches can be found around the Chicago area, it will be possible to benefit from the wealth of knowledge that Gloria and Santos can share about the work of the church in Guatemala especially with the critical presence work that Gloria has been doing with refugee support and that Santos has been doing with indigenous peoples.
