Mental Health First Aid

By August 26, 2015No Comments

Rev. Kerry Waller Dueholm was recently trained in Mental Health First Aid, which equips people with tools to help someone in crisis or mental health distress. It is somewhat like first aid, but with a focus on depression, anxiety, suicide, substance use and paranoia. It is an 8 hour training with an ideal class size of 15-20 people.

She really believes in the power of prevention and early intervention and equipping people to help one another. One in four people have a mental health crisis or illness during their lifetime, so it affects us all.

Kerry is offering to lead training events for congregations. There is a charge, usually $50, for the day. She’d be happy to travel up to 2 hours from Wauconda, IL.

More information about the program can be found at mentalhealthfirstaid.org. Contact Kerry to talk about scheduling a training [email protected]
